PROJECT SAMARTHAN

A NTPC INITIATIVE

In a bid to provide quality education for NTPC children residing in the remote project areas, NTPC launched PROJECT SAMARTHAN to be executed by CSRL. Under the project 600 students spread across various locations and projects would be provided the best online coaching by the leading faculties available in Delhi. Inaugurating the project on 2nd Nov 2010, by Video Conferencing mode NTPC CMD Mr Arup Roy Choudhary said the company shall provide the best facilities for the development of NTPC children and their holistic growth to achieve educational excellence. The basic objective of the course in to increase the percentage of marks of the students in four core subject basically Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. The inauguration program was attended by all the Directors of the Board at Corporate Office along with 600 students at various locations.

Under the project 19 locations spread across all remote areas of India is being linked through the Video Conferencing IT facility already existing at head office and all locations. The students would be made to revise the complete course of Class XII th in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English. The classes would be conducted in evening from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Every day one complete class would be dedicated to Mathematics & Physics. On alternate days Chemistry & English would be given 1 hour 15 minutes slot. The model adopted would be more of Interactive and doubt solving model. The project locations that are being covered are 1) Dadri, 2) Badarpur, 3) Anta, 4) Ramagundam, 5) Kayamkulam, 6) Auriya, 7) Shakti Nagar, 8) Rihand, 9) Vindhyachal, 10) Talcher, 11) Korba, 12) Kawas, 13) Farrakkah, 14) Kehalgaon, 15) Sipat, 16) Jhanor, 17) Unchahar 18) Tanda 19) Angul.

The faculties have a rich academic background and experience in teaching students. The academic mentor of the program is Shri Abhayanand, IPS Addl. DG Police & Co founder of Super 30, Patna and a man of international fame and recognition. Shri Abhayanand, IPS is also the academic mentor of other projects running under the name of UTKARSH SUPERB 30 at various locations. Shri Abhayanand, IPS would be personally teaching physics to students from the PATNA Office of NTPC, rest of the faculties would be using the PMI, NOIDA facilities for imparting the conceptual knowledge of the subject.

At each location an UNIT COORDINATOR has been appointed to act as a local facilitator. The Unit Coordinators are spouse of NTPC employees working on that particular project.
